Hi, I’m Susan. Thanks for stopping by.

I’ve always believed that our relationships—whether with a partner, a friend, or ourselves—shape so much of how we move through life. They can be our greatest source of strength, but they can also bring some of our deepest challenges. My work as a marriage and family therapist grew out of my own personal journey with relationships, loss, and healing, and it’s become my passion to help others navigate those tender places.

My specialty:

I specialize in working with couples who feel stuck in cycles of conflict, distance, or uncertainty, as well as individuals facing anxiety, depression, or self-doubt. I know how heavy those struggles can feel, and I also know that change is possible—with the right support, it’s possible to move toward greater connection, calm, and clarity.

About this BLOG:

This blog is an extension of that work. It’s a space where I share insights, reflections, and tools from the therapy room—along with some of my own learning along the way. You might find posts here about communication, rebuilding trust, managing anxiety, navigating tough transitions, or simply finding your way back to yourself. From time to time, I’ll also share videos, resources, and maybe even interactive tools like quizzes to help you explore your own patterns.

One important note: what you read here is not therapy, and it’s not a substitute for mental health care. Think of it as inspiration, perspective, and encouragement for the road you’re on.

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

More about me:

And because therapy is about real life, let me share a little of mine: I love to hike and spend time both on and in the water. My partner and I do all sorts of fun things together—and of course, we have our moments, too. That’s where the tools I teach come into play. I also come from a big family—three sisters and a brother, so five kids total. I’m number two in the lineup, which means I learned early on how to find my voice (and negotiate a little peace in the chaos!).

When I’m not outdoors or in the therapy room, you might find me on the pickleball court, at a family BBQ (I never miss one!), or laughing through music bingo or hamming it up with my guy.

My education & credentials:

  • Supervision: Supervised by Jennifer Vann, LMFT, MFT001186
  • License State: Georgia
  • Education: I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from John F. Kennedy University in 2004. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Integrative Health and have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Need support with your relationships?

If you’re curious about working together, I offer free consultations through Cornerstone Family Services in Roswell, GA, where I see both individuals and couples.

I’m glad you’re here. My hope is that something you read sparks a sense of hope, a new perspective, or simply the reminder that you’re not alone.
